About this course

In this course (the second in our two-part series on this topic), Dr. Mary Donahue (Ph.D.) and Lisa Morgan (LCSW-CC, M.Ed.) review and expand upon the cultural & sensory considerations for working with autistic clients, working from a foundational presumption of competence on the part of the client. Common co-occurring disorders are noted, tips for improving efficacy are offered, and potentially effective forms of intervention – as well as specific interventions – are described. An extended role play with discussion adds much depth and clarity to the theoretical portion of this masterclass.

The first course in this series is titled Enhancing Communication and Care: Meeting the Needs of Autistic Individuals in Therapy.
