About this course
In this course, Dr. Greg Brigman, Ph.D., Department of Counselor Education, Florida Atlantic University, describes how social/emotional learning programs have strong power to impact student learning and behaviour not only with respect to aspects such as academic achievement scores, but also in terms of attitudes and motivation to learn, decreased negative behaviours, and reduced emotional stress. Dr. Brigman takes you through three activities of the Student Success Skills Program, outlining the skills embedded into the program and showing how it builds self-efficacy. He shares the significant positive findings on the program from 23 published research studies and 13 doctoral dissertations exploring its effectiveness.
